About Me…
I am a people focused designer driven by curiosity, creative problem solving and care for the communities and places around me. My interests sit between architecture, product design and socially responsive environments, with a particular focus on accessibility, wellbeing and meaningful user experience.
Whether developing a detailed model, collaborative artwork or larger architectural intervention, I value thoughtful, human centred design rooted in local identity and lived experience. I am naturally hands on, always looking to learn new skills, work across disciplines and contribute meaningfully to the communities I am part of.
Practice and Experience
2022 - 2026 - Part 1 Architectural Assistant at Lewis Architecture Ltd.
Working initially in a full time role before transitioning into a part time position alongside my studies, I have worked with Lewis Architecture for over four years across a broad range of domestic projects at varying scales. My experience spans multiple stages of the RIBA Plan of Work, from early design and planning through to technical delivery and construction.
My early responsibilities focused on client engagement, design proposals, planning applications and project development up to RIBA Stage 3. As my role developed, I became increasingly involved in tender packages, contractor coordination and procurement through Stage 4. More recently, I have gained experience supporting construction stages, including contract administration, recording site progress, liaising with contractors and representing the practice on site where appropriate.
2018 - 2022 - Workshop Technician (Ceramics, Glass and Plaster) at Birmingham City University
Initially independently then after a year, alongside my BA studies; I worked within the technical workshops at the University of Wolverhampton as a support tutor and technician. Assisting students from undergraduate through to PhD level across a wide range of disciplines to realise their designs through specialist making and fabrication processes.
With particular experience in ceramics, model making and product design, I regularly supported students in developing work for exhibitions and final shows, helping to resolve technical challenges through experimentation and material testing. Daily responsibilities included kiln preparation and firings, workshop support, equipment maintenance and assisting students in translating ideas into physical outcomes.
2014 - 2020 - Workshop Assistant at Woodsetton Art Pottery
As a third generation member of a matrilineal family ceramics and craft business, I have worked within the studio environment since a young age, developing practical skills across ceramics, pewter and woodworking, with a primary focus on ceramic production. My experience includes producing studio ware and giftware for craft fairs, galleries, exhibitions and independent ceramic showcases.
Alongside making, I played a key role in the growth of the business by developing the company website, booking platform and gift card system, supporting the expansion of public pottery classes and studio teaching. I have also delivered outreach and public engagement work, including producing replica canopic jars for the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and running hands on craft activities with the resident potter at the Lapworth Museum, BMAG and MAC.
